Big Lake Contracting, LLC is a locally-owned, family business that continues to grow as Northern Minnesota's excavating/contracting provider of choice. Owner, Kevin Middleton, and his wife, Amanda, started moving dirt to subside their families construction company in 2013.

Kevin first got his start in the construction industry while working for his father's company, P&M Quality Builders: a Duluth based construction company that provides high quality homes, garages, and concrete to Northern Minnesota. P&M Quality Builders was started by Loren Middleton and Lud Perushek in 1987. 

 

In 1996, Kevin began working with the crew during summer vacations and weekends. Here, he learned a tremendous amount from his Dad and Lud; most importantly, a strong work ethic. Kevin enjoyed seeing the accomplishment of a project completed and took joy in having a little extra cash to purchase his first snowmobile and pick-up truck. In 2006, after Lud retired, Kevin became more involved in meeting with the clients to understand what they were looking for in a home, garage, or concrete driveway.

Throughout the construction process, Kevin found a passion for running equipment. This was why, in 2013, he decided to run with his dream and start his own company, Big Lake Contracting, LLC, where he could focus and expand on excavation, septic systems, and epoxy flooring..

At Big Lake Contracting, LLC, Kevin can still work with clients on their dream home, only now, he is involved in the beginning stages of the project. From cutting the first tree down to creating your new driveway, slab, or septic, Kevin sees the vision that drives him to the finished product, which, he credits his strong and personable crew in achieving this goal together:

Loren Middleton is still operating P&M Quality Builders with Kevin by his side on select building projects. 

 

Kevin and Amanda reside in Duluth with their two children, Cooper and Bailey. They are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the family cabin, boating, snowmobiling, four wheeling, fishing and hunting.
